The definition of the measure of force ordered for Monday by the powerful transport unions against the policies of Javier Milei’s government exposed a furious dispute in the leadership of the confederation that the groups, the CATTa situation that will be palpable in the effective scope of the protest that affect the normal functioning of various services.

On the one hand, a statement from the leadership of the CATT, signed by its head, the railway worker Sergio Sasia, relativized the effects of the protest by clarifying that there will not be a strike of air, land and sea transport and that assemblies will only be held between 9 and 11 in the morning. The text even highlighted that “said assemblies in no way do they represent direct action measures or a strike of activities”.
However the Sasia’s statement was disavowed by the most important unions of the CATT that, led by the Hugo and Pablo Moyano’s truckersThey made another statement official in which they warned that Monday’s assemblies will take place between 8 and 11 in the morning with paralysis of activities.
“It is resolved to hold assemblies in the workplace with interruption of service of each and every one of the activities represented by the organizations grouped in this Confederation,” he noted.
In addition to Truckers, the text was signed by the heads of the Aeronavegantes (Juan Pablo Brey), Dragado (Juan Carlos Schmid), metrodelegates (Néstor Segovia), SOMU (Raúl Durdos), maritime, taxi drivers, guincheros, road and motorcycle unions. . . This implies that the decision to interrupt services for three hours will affect cargo, air, maritime and port transportation, along with subways and taxis.
In this regard, Schmid explained to Clarion that assemblies are planned to be held at the Buenos Aires Airport, the port terminals, the hydrocarbon distribution centers and the collection of services, in addition to the fact that the Waterway services and grain shipments will be interrupted, affecting agricultural exports. On the other hand, as Sasia assured this newspaper, railway services will not be interrupted during the assemblies.
At the same time the operation of the buses will be normal since the UTA, the union that brings together short, medium and long distance drivers, is not part of the CATT, as is the case with the machinists of La Fraternidad. Both are members of the alternative UGATT confederation.
The force measure was resolved by the transport unions in rejection of the labor chapter contained in the Bases Law that on Tuesday achieved half a sanction from Deputies and against the reversal of the Income Tax exception for workers, included in the fiscal package .
