(Spanish CNN) — The Copa Libertadores 2023 continues its course and this Wednesday we will know which matches will launch the round of 16 of this edition of the competition.
On June 29, the last matches of the group stage of the cup were played and, with this, the teams that will play the round of 16 (the first of the tournament’s knockout stages) were decided.
To define the round of 16, a draw will take place in the city of Luque, Paraguay, headquarters of the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol).

Which teams will participate in the 2023 Copa Libertadores Round of 16 draw?
In total, the teams classified for the round of 16 of the Libertadores are 16: eight of these clubs correspond to those who finished first in each of the groups and the remaining eight to those who took second place.

What time is the draw and how to watch live?
The round of 16 will be defined as follows: a ball will be drawn from pot 2 then another from pot 1, which will give us the first confrontation of the round of 16 and will be the key A.
This will be done successively until completing the eighth round of 16 keys (which will have the letters A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H).

How will the quarter-finals and semi-finals take place?
As we mentioned earlier, in the Round of 16 there will be eight keys containing letters ranging from A to H.
Therefore, the quarter-finals will be played like this:

According to the official Libertadores 2023 calendar, the knockout stages are played on these dates:

- Quarter-finals: between August 23 and 30
- Semi-finals: between September 27 and October 4
- End: Saturday, November 4
Remember that the stage for the final was set on March 8: the venue will be the historic Maracana in Brazil, which hosted the final of this cup for the last time in the 2020 edition.
